WHY IS PROTEIN IMPORTANT?

Physical activity increase protein turnover in the muscles. Hard exercise also leads to increased muscle breakdown, which results in muscles needing “repair”. As such, it’s important to consume protein in connection to exercise. Protein contributes to the maintenance and increase of muscle mass and plays an important part in the renewal of, for example, hair and skin cells. Protein also contributes to the feeling of satiety.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PROTEIN AND AMINO ACIDS?

Protein is made of around twenty different amino acids. Nine of them are essential and must be supplemented through consumption as they are not produced naturally by the body. BCAA contains three of those amino acids – which are so-called free amino acids that can be absorbed directly by the body.
